How to cut fax costs?
A traditional fax machine requires one to make sure that it is loaded with either paper or, for older fax machines, thermal paper. For plain paper faxes there is also the cost of the printing medium like toner etc.
There are a number of ways to cut these costs.
One can subscribe to a fax service. These services vary in price from provider to provider but work out costing less than have a physical machine. These systems use an e-mail system wherein all inbound faxes arrive in your e-mail inbox as an image. In sending a fax, one just sends an e-mail of what you want to send as a fax to a particular e-mail address and the system sends it to a fax machine. Another advantage in using this system is one can send and receive faxes from any computer connected to the internet, regardless of where you are. To find out more about this system, click here.
Another system involves receiving and sending faxes directly using a computer. The fax line is connected directly to your computer. This allows one to receive faxes without having to have a printed sheet of paper. This system requires a modem in your computer (many already have it) and a bit of software and you are set. These two examples are certainly a more environmentally friendly way of faxing. Often it is more expensive to help the environment but this way you save money - why not?
