What is nofax.com.au and what does it do with the numbers entered?
This website has been set up to promote ethical practices in the faxing industry. We hope to get this site used more and more by companies in order that someone no longer wishing to receive fax advertising may have their number removed.
Nofax intends to achieve this by two methods:
Firstly, in order that people may stop receiving promotional faxes. If you have received a fax with this website address on the bottom of it, enter your details below to stop getting faxes from the company which sent the fax. Note that there are a number of companies using this service; therefore be sure to include the code given on the fax so that your fax number is sent to the correct company for removal.
The second reason this site is here is to inform people about fax advertising, where companies get fax numbers and what can be done to stop receiving promotional faxes.
Once a number has been entered, we collect it and send it to the company concerned. The reason for a unique code that is entered with the fax number is we only want the company who sent the fax originally to get this number. We cannot send this number to all companies who send out faxes and risk them using it if they did not already have it.
In time we would like to set this up so that faxing companies can “wash” their lists against all who have asked for their number to be removed.
We download the numbers entered on the site weekly. For this reason, please give us some time before your number to be removed from our lists.
